After giving duet films like Ula Rangula Ratnam and Gad Raju Gadu, Raj Tarun manages to pick a film that can redeem him well as an actor. Directed by Aneesh Krishna, ‘Lovers’ has a story that is nowhere near the novel as it tries to be. Apart from the boy’s regular old tropes, the girl meets, bothers to love him, saves him and both days, the film offers nothing new to its core.
Raj (Raj Tarun) lost his parents at an early age and grew up with his brother Jaggu (Rajiv Kanakala). She lives with her brother, sister-in-law and beloved niece, hoping to live with her own family. While his brother falls on the other side of the law with his friend Sampat (Subbaraju), Raj stays far away from the struggle and prefers to lead an honest life. Charita (Riddhi Kumar) bowling with her compassionate face and supportive nature walks in her life like a breath of fresh air. Raj’s Q Montes behaved like Uday Chopra, dreaming of Malayali weddings (because he is Malayali) and such.
